Kazakhstan congratulates Norway on election to UNSC
During a telephone conversation with Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide, Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi congratulated Norway on its election as a non-permanent member to the UN Security Council for 2021-2022, Strategy2050.kz reports.
Being a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2017-2018, Kazakhstan defended the joint interests of the Central Asian countries, paying particular attention to the issue of resolving the conflict in Afghanistan. M. Tleuberdi also acquainted the interlocutor with the initiative of our country to create the UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals in Almaty.
I. Søreide thanked the interlocutor for Kazakhstan's support for Norway's candidacy in the UN Security Council. Noting the successful experience of Kazakhstan in the Council, she expressed readiness to work on issues on the UN agenda.
The foreign ministers also reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation across the entire spectrum of bilateral relations.
