Kazakhstan and Germany to lift relations to a new stage
Kazakhstan and Germany are seeking to bring the relations to a new stage of cooperation, such a statement was made during the political consultations held under the leadership of Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vasilenko and Michael Siebert, Director for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, Federal Foreign Office of Germany, Startegy2050.kz cites the Kazakh foreign ministry.
The sides discussed the state and prospects of political and trade-economic cooperation, expanding the legal framework, as well as a number of topical issues of the international and regional agenda.
The diplomats expressed confidence that the upcoming official visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Berlin will further strengthen friendly and trusting contacts at the level of the leadership of the two countries and will give a significant impetus to the development of bilateral relations across the entire spectrum of cooperation.
The meeting zoned in on the issues of Kazakh-German interaction in the international arena and within the framework of regional and integration structures.
The Kazakh diplomat informed his German colleagues about Kazakhstan’s efforts to help rebuild Afghanistan through the implementation of the EU program to train Afghan women at universities in Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan., while the German side stated its readiness to consider the possibility of expanding cooperation in this area.
Speaking of regional cooperation, the role of Germany in the development of cooperation between the EU and Central Asian countries was emphasized. In particular, the German diplomat spoke about the new initiative of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany - “Green Central Asia”, which will cover cooperation between Germany, the five countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan on the issues of sustainable development and environmental safety. The parties agreed to consider this initiative in the context of the interests of each of the countries in the region.
The diplomats pointed out the coincidence of the positions on the fight against international terrorism, regional security and other items on the international and regional agendas.
The Kazakh side expressed gratitude to Berlin for supporting the Kazakh international initiatives.
