Kazakhstan and Bulgaria fostering bilateral relations
There has been a meeting of Deputy Chairman – Head of the Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan Zhanseit Tuimebayev with Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova at the capital’s House of Friendship today, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to the press service of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
The meeting has discussed the further strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria in cultural and humanitarian areas.
The delegation is on an official visit upon the invitation of the Bulgarian ethnic group in Kazakhstan.
Both countries’ diplomatic relations’ establishment dates back to 1992. Since then, the countries have been enjoying warm and friendly political and trade and economic relations.
There are some joint projects. Kazakhstan registered 91 active enterprises with Bulgaria’s capital as of 1 September this year. In the meantime, over 263 trade offices with Kazakhstan’s involvement are registered in Bulgaria.
The round table touched upon the possibilities and efforts of the Bulgarian cultural centers countrywide, the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan’s work being a unique institute of inter-ethnic understanding. Tuimebayev talked about the perspectives of cooperation in culture, art and sport.
“There should be days of culture, film screenings, exhibitions. Bulgarian specialists are greatly contributing to Kazakhstan’s education and sport. Successful cooperation is ongoing between higher education institutions of the countries. About 100 Kazakh students are studying in Bulgarian universities,” he said.
He conveyed the words of gratitude to the Bulgarian side for opening the rooms for studying the Kazakh language, literature and culture in Sofia University, the Sofia Central Library, as well as the Technical University of Sofia.
He expressed the willingness to ensure all necessary conditions to develop culture, language and traditions of the Bulgarian ethnic group are in place.
Being on her first visit to Kazakhstan, Bulgarian Vice President Iliana Iotova has noted Kazakh hospitality, expressing gratitude. The Assembly’s work caught her attention before her arrival in Kazakhstan, she has said.
There are Bulgarian cultural centers in Nur-Sultan, Pavlodar, Atyrau, Aktobe and Karaganda regions. 4 Bulgarians are members of the Assembly.
