The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which presents the Golden Globe Award, has published a full list of applicants in the nomination "Best Foreign Language Film", which included three films produced by the Kazakhfilm film studio: “Shyraqshy” (The Keeper) by Yermek Tursunov, “Tomiris” by Akan Satayev and “Personal Growth Training” by Farkhat Sharipov, the Kazakhfilm film studio’s press service informs.

The Golden Globe Awards’ longlist includes 93 foreign language films from 65 countries. The shortlist in this category will be announced on December 9, 2019.

The film “Shyraqshy” (The Keeper), which will be screened in Kazakhstan early next year, tells the story of the soldier returning from the war. In his hands he has an old film projector with films, which is a gift from a rescued old German. The main character keeps the film projector for his lifetime.

The historical film “Tomiris” is dedicated to the events of the 6th century BC and tells the life story of the great queen of the steppe - the legendary Tomiris. While the drama “Personality Growth Training” tells the story of 40-year-old bank clerk Kanat, who is experiencing a midlife crisis. Even the renowned coach cannot change his outlook on life. For a drastic change in life, he only needs to meet a long-time acquaintance Daniyar.

The 77th Golden Globe Award Ceremony will take place on 5-6 January 2020.
