Kazakh PM was on working trips to Shymkent, Turkistan
The Prime Minister, Askar Mamin, visited the cities of Shymkent and Turkistan in line with the instructions to develop the cities given by the First President – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev and Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to primeminister.kz.
The PM toured the construction site of the restoration and museum development project Shymkent Settlement, found during the archaeological excavations. The project is of historical value and set to become an attractive tourist attraction as part of the Shymkent – CIS cultural capital celebrations in 2020.
He also looked around the Zerde-Keramika porcelain tile factory, exporting its products to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Mamin also reviewed the plans to revive the textile industry in the region.
Industrial output has stood at 359.6 billion tenge in 8 months of 2019 in Shymkent, manufacturing industry has raised by 17.8%, including chemical products by 21%, metallurgy by 25.9%, oil products by 31.5%. The number of active SMEs equals 67.2 thousand or 114.5% compared to the same period of 2018 in Shymkent.
A draft of a new terminal at Shymkent Airport with a capacity of 400 passengers per hour, slated for construction in October 2020, was presented.
In Turkestan, Mamin reviewed the progress of the first stage of the city’s modernization, including the construction of administrative, social and historical-cultural facilities: the city government buildings, official bodies’ departments, a media centre, Nur-Sultan Square, and the Olympic Reserve sports school, a public services centre, a music school, a city park with attractions, a wedding palace, a visit centre, an Eastern bathhouse, an amphitheater and Arbat City.
