Kazakh PM met with Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin

As part of his visit, Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin toured the city of Baikonur, Kyzylorda region, to familiarize with its social and economic development as well as the state and future implementation of Kazakh-Russian projects in the space field, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to primeminister.kz.

The Kazakh PM visited the areas of five apartment blocks build under the Nurly zher programme.

He also was reported on the works on the city’s gasification and water supply, hotels’ construction and reconstruction, the creation of the Baikonur special economic zone.

Following the joint observation of the launch of the manned spaceship Soyuz MS-15 the Head of Government met with Dmitry Rogozin, Director General of Roscosmos, to go over the current issues of implementation of the Kazakh-Russian project on the creation of the space rocket facility Nazarbayev start.

At the 7 September 2019 meeting of first Kazakh President – National Leader Nursultan Nazarbayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, the Russian side made a proposal to rename the Baiterek side to the Nazarbayev start, as well as to view new conditions for its effective realization ensuring the start to lift off both Soyuz-5 and Souyz-6 launchers as well as to cancel manned space flight programmes.
