Kazakh-Indian relations discussed in West Bengal
Kazakh Ambassador to India Yerlan Alimbayev was in one of the largest economic and financial centers of India – Kolkata (former Calcutta) on a working visit on November 18-19, 2019, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to the Kazakh foreign ministry.
Kolkata is the capital of the state of West Bengal and serves as the headquarters for many industrial companies of the country, including enterprises in industries as steel, engineering (including electronics), concrete, pharmaceuticals, food and textile. The Kolkata Stock Exchange is the second largest in India.
The Kazakh diplomat held a meeting with the Governor of the State, Chairman of the Kolkata Seaport, Managing Director of the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation, as well as held the talks with the leadership of the Kolkata Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other leading Indian companies.
It was noted that in an interview with one of the leading publications of India "Times of India" Ambassador Yeran Alimbayev spoke about the state and prospects of the bilateral relations, as well as the main provisions of the 2 September 2019 state-of-the-nation address of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Kazakh people.
