Kazakh Head of State toured the capital's innovation facilities
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has visited the Alem programming school, the Astana Hub international technology park for IT startups, and Astana IT University within Astana EXPO-2017, the Akorda press service informs.
While touring the Alem school, the Kazakh President was introduced to the training program, where he noted the relevance and relevance of the IT sphere in the world.
“The task of Kazakhstan is to keep up with global trends. The most important thing is to make progress towards, otherwise we will be thrown to the sidelines of world development. Young people should learn all these skills, engage in that area. We have very capable young people who strive to gain knowledge,” the Head of State said.
The school’s students told Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about how to learn to program without teachers, lectures, grades and other elements of traditional education.
The President was also acquainted with the activities and infrastructure of Astana Hub, where he was presented several startups - an e-sports platform for matchmaking, the automated trading platform INUI Software, mobile parcel automats Tastamat, a system for recording the arrival and departure of employees using biometrics Clockster, and other projects that are being implemented in the technology park.
While visiting Astana IT University, the Head of State was updated about the main directions of the university’s work, looked around the classrooms, laboratories.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev urged students to get a good education in order to successfully work for the good of the country.
“The university was created on the initiative of National Leader Nursultan Nazarbayev. I have no doubt that it will be prestigious and, most importantly, will train qualified specialists. The better you study, the more chances you will have in this complex and unpredictable life,” the President said.
