Kazakh capital to host UN round table on Afghanistan

On 9 October 2019, the Kazakh capital, Nur-Sultan, will host a UN round table on Afghanistan involving Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Strategy2050.kz reports.

The event will be attended by heads of the OSCE political missions in Central Asia, representatives of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan and the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, the SCO, CICA and others, as well as think tank representatives.

The participants will be informed about the organizations’ efforts in restoring and providing assistance to Afghanistan.

On the same day, Brussels will host the 27th session of the Berlin Eurasian Club under the theme “The New EU Strategy on Central Asia. Strengthening regional cooperation”, with the participation of high-profile representatives of the European Union, as well as the head of a Kazakh delegation, Deputy Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev.

Panel discussions between representatives of State bodies, business circles, experts from Kazakhstan, Germany and Belgium are also due to take place.

It has been noted that the Kazakh deputy foreign minister will attend meetings with Belgian business leaders.
