Kazakh Armed Force team takes part in 7th World Military Games in China

The Kazakh Armed Force’s team has taken part in the solemn ceremony of opening the 7th International Military Sports Council (CISM) World Military Games in the Chinese city of Wuhan, Strategy2050.kz informs.

The Games have been opened by Xi Jinping, China’s President, Secretary-General of the Chinese Communist Party’s Central Committee, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC).

The Wuhan games are the largest ever such games of CISM, which is held to fostering friendship and peace. The 10-day games have brought together 9308 participants from 109 countries to take part in 329 contests in 27 sports.

The Kazakh Armed Force team is represented by eminent athletes including Mayor Olga Rypakova (London Olympic Triple Jump Champion), Junior Sergeant Adilet Davlumbayev (winner of the 6th World Military Games, the Asian Freestyle Wrestling Championships), Daniyar Kalenov (world champion, the 2017 Asian Indoor Games’s champion in Greco-Roman wrestling), Aslanbek Shymbergenov (two-time World Series Boxing champ, silver boxing winner of the 2018 Asian Games) and others.

The Wuhan Games are taking place under the patronage of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) founded in February 1948, which Kazakhstan joined in 1993. The Council has 135 member States.
