Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Eastern Kazakhstan Governor
The President of Kazakhstan received Governor of Eastern Kazakhstan Danial Akhmetov, who reported to the Head of State on the results of the socio-economic development of the region in 2019, as well as plans to further strengthen the region’s potential, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the Akorda press service.
According to Danial Akhmetov, the indicators of investments in fixed assets have increased in Eastern Kazakhstan, and there has been an increase in production in industry and agriculture.
He also informed the President about the progress in providing targeted social assistance in a new format. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to conduct a thorough analysis of the economic condition of every low-income family living in the region and take appropriate measures to assist them, as well as large families.
Danial Akhmetov also informed the Head of State about the plan for the construction of a bridge over the Bukhtarma reservoir in the second half of this year, with the President noting the importance of building this socially significant facility to meet the needs of a significant part of the region’s population.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of specific instructions, including those related to the 175th anniversary of Abai Qunanbaiuly, including the construction of a museum and hotel complex in Zhidebay.
The Head of State praised the work on the socio-economic development of the region, while highlighting the efforts aimed at strengthening the scientific, educational and medical potential of Eastern Kazakhstan.
