Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Vladimir Putin
The Kazakh Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who is in Omsk to participate in the 16th Interregional Cooperation Forum, attended a meeting with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
The Heads of State went over the prospects for development of the regional cooperation.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude for hospitality, noting the effectiveness and fruitfulness of the forum.
“In 2003, thanks to the efforts of First President Nursultan Nazarbayev and your efforts the first interregional meeting took place here. The forum functions at full capacity and is an effective tool for regional cooperation. It is significant that trade between our regions keeps growing. We have reached many great things in industrial cooperation, agricultural cooperation, significant progress has been made,” he said.
Vladimir Putin marked the importance of the forum connecting the regions of Russia and Kazakhstan.
“The relations between our countries have been evolving successfully, with the trade growing by 14% in the previous year. Investments continue to expand. We hold meetings on a regular basis, however there are topics that require our special attention,” the Russian President said.
