Kazakhstan has banned the import of poultry products from Vinnitsa region of Ukraine, Strategy2050.kz has learnt from the Ministry’s press service.

The Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee reports that temporary restrictions were introduced on January 27, 2020 on the basis of the official notification of the International Epizootic Bureau about the outbreak of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus in Vinnitsa region, Ukraine.

Temporary restrictions are also imposed on the transit through Vinnitsa region of live poultry, poultry meat and all types of poultry products, as well as hatching eggs, down and feathers that have not undergone heat treatment (at least 70 ° C), feed additives for birds (per excluding feed additives for chemical and microbiological synthesis), hunting trophies that have not undergone taxidermy processing (game birds), and used equipment for keeping, slaughtering and butchering birds.

President of the Union of Poultry Farmers of Kazakhstan Ruslan Sharipov noted that this measure helps to protect the territory of our country from the spread of dangerous bird diseases.

Meanwhile, Russia and Belarus also imposed temporary restrictions in connection with the outbreak of avian influenza.
