Nur-Sultan Airport may alter IATA code
The IATA approved the amendments put forth by the Kazakh Civil Aviation Committee regarding Nur-Sultan Airport IATA code, Strategy2050.kz informs referring to the Aviation Administration.
At the IATA Global Airport and Passenger Simposium Conference in Warsaw involving a Kazakh delegation led by Talgat Lastayev, Chair of the Ministry of Innovation and Industrial Development’s Civil Aviation Committee, consisting of AirAstana and SCAT representatives, a set of amendments initiated by Kazakhstan to IATA Resolution 763 was approved.
The amendments are about changing the code of Nur-Sultan International Airport under IATA procedures and standards.
The airport’s IATA code is TSE, with no information on the new one.
According to Elorda.info, the Civil Aviation Committee’s head Talgal Lastayev spoke of the airport’s new IATA code as NIA – Nazarbayev International Airport, NNA – Nursultan Nazarbayev Airport or NAN. However, some of the proposed versions are not free.
