Head of State receives Peter Foster, President of Air Astana
Peter Foster has informed Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about the current state and plans for the further development of the national air carrier, including the increase in domestic passenger air travel, the opening of new foreign destinations and measures to reduce airfare, Strategy2050.kz with reference to Akorda reports.
According to Peter Foster, with the launch of its subsidiary airline, the low-cost airline Fly Arystan, Kazakhstan has become one of the countries with the fastest growing domestic air transportation market in the world.
In addition, the Air Astana President has informed the President of Kazakhstan about updating the air fleet, in particular the replacement of the Boeing-757 with the long-range Airbus A321, as well as plans to acquire the Boeing-787 until 2023.
The Head of State has noted the importance of further developing the open skies regime and opening new foreign routes, in particular to Singapore, New York and other major cities of the world.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also focused on the need to step up work on setting affordable prices for airline tickets for citizens.
