Head of State receives Defense Minister
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received Minister of Defense Nurlan Yermekbayev, Strategy2050.kz has learnt from Akorda’s press service.
The President of Kazakhstan - the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces heard a report on the ongoing optimization of the staff structure of the Kazakhstan army, inventory and verification of weapons’ condition, military equipment and ammunition, countering coronavirus infection, and the implementation of major infrastructure projects.
Nurlan Yermekbayev informed Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about the activities to form a new image for the Armed Forces, taking into account the real risks and threats, the need and the possibility of using military personnel, including the elimination of natural and man-made emergencies.
In addition, the Head of State was informed about the state of combat operational training of army units, issues of state defense order, equipping with armed equipment, taking into account budgetary capabilities, automation and digitalization of the Ministry of Defense.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief instructed to continue work to strengthen the country's defense capabilities and increase the equipment of the Armed Forces, to optimize expenditures, increase the level of education of military personnel, as well as to study the possibilities of obtaining additional knowledge and skills of the military men during service.
