Head of State received GRECO Executive Secretary

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) Executive Secretary Gianluca Esposito, Strategy2050.kz refers to Akorda’s press service.
Issues of Kazakhstan's accession to the Group of States against Corruption, as well as prospects for cooperation with the Council of Europe were discussed during the meeting.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his gratitude to the Council of Europe for supporting the accession of our country to GRECO and noted the importance of cooperation with this organization in the fight against corruption.
“We are very interested in participating in the activities of this organization. We are convinced that this will give a serious additional impetus to our efforts to combat corruption, and will also contribute to solving other problems that impede our progress”, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
In turn, Gianluca Esposito said that the cooperation between Kazakhstan and GRECO will be mutually beneficial for both parties.
“Membership of Kazakhstan will contribute not only to promoting the principles and mechanisms of the fight against corruption, but also to improving the business climate, improving the scope of public services”, the GRECO Executive Secretary stated.
