Head of State received Coordinating Minister for National Security of Singapore
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Senior Minister - Coordinating Minister for National Security of Singapore Teo Chee Hean, Akorda’s press service informs.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of political, trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Singapore, as well as interaction in the field of digitalization.
Having noted the friendly bilateral relations, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke about productive negotiations with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on the sidelines of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council summit in Yerevan held in October this year. In addition, the Head of State conveyed greetings to President of Singapore Halimah Yacob.
“I have been well acquainted with the President of Singapore since the time when we both were speakers of the parliaments of our countries. I am very glad that she has become the Head of State”, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
In turn, Teo Chee Hean expressed his best wishes to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on behalf of the President and the Prime Minister of Singapore, and also stressed the intention of his country to continue strengthening of cooperation with Kazakhstan.
At the end of the meeting, the Singaporean Minister presented to the Head of State an invitation from President Halimah Yacob to visit Singapore.
