General Prosecutor’s Office announced results of 2019 year
Under the chairmanship of Gizat Nurdauletov, the board of the General Prosecutor's Office discussed the results of work for 2019.
According to the Prosecutor General, the criminal situation in the country has improved. Compared to last year, the number of criminal offenses was reduced by 17%. Murders decreased by 11%, hooliganism by 28%, drug crime by 12%. 21% less robberies and robberies, 22% thefts.
“We must respond in a timely manner to any violations of the law. And even better not to allow them”, the Prosecutor General said.
He also elaborated on crime prevention issues.
The results of inspections in the field of protecting public interests were announced. With the assistance of prosecutors, repayment of wage arrears to 30 thousand employees for an amount over 2 billion tenge was carried out.
Under acts of prosecutorial response, more than 17 thousand people were brought to various types of responsibility. Collected in state revenue 30 billion tenge. Returned 37 thousand unused land plots.
The interests of the state were protected in the amount of 47 billion tenge.
The Prosecutor General focused on the key areas of the Address of the Head of State and the coordinating role of prosecutors in ensuring the rule of law and respect for human rights in the criminal process.
This year, prosecutors terminated the unreasonable prosecution of 219 people. 725 illegally detained persons were released from office premises and isolation wards.
At the request and protest of the prosecutors, the courts reviewed the sentences against 1,172 citizens. At the initiative of prosecutors, 36 persons were acquitted by the courts.
Summing up the work of General Prosecutor’s Office, Gizat Nurdauletov instructed to make every effort to protect the constitutional rights of citizens, to ensure law and order in society.
“It is necessary to further increase the accessibility of prosecutors. Operational, at the same time painstaking work with each appeal, interaction with the public is one of the main priorities. We must completely exclude the formal approach”, the Prosecutor General concluded.
Based on the results of the work of the board, the head of the supervisory department outlined the priority tasks and key areas for the coming year.
