General Assembly to elect president of Kazakh National Olympic Committee
Today, in Nur-Sultan the General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan has begun its work with the presidents of all the national sports associations in the Olympic sports in attendance, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to Olympic.kz.
The important item on the agenda is to elect the President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan.
The meeting was opened by Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin.
“I would like to direct your attention to the younger generation. A high proportion of them are gifted. And our task is to detect them, train and help them win major international competitions, which is a priority for each federation,” the Kazakh PM said.
“We need to work hard to ensure our national team performs well at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. We have the potential,” he said.
Addressing the attendees, the Kazakh PM outlined that thanks to the teamwork of the Government and the NOC the major competitions were held.
“In the next year 54 billion tenge will be provided from the national budget to development of sport. The sports infrastructure will be developed,” the PM said.
In his speech the PM has noted that the election of the head of the NOC is an essential and responsible event as it is about further development of sport.
