FMs of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan discussed regional cooperation amid pandemic
At the initiative of the Uzbek side, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov had a telephone conversation, Strategy2050.kz has learnt from Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s press service.
During the conversation, the sides discussed the issues of the upcoming meetings within the framework of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the CIS in May 2020. In this vein, Kazakhstan supported the initiative of Uzbekistan to hold a video conference of the CIS Ministerial Council.
The sides also noted the importance of coordinating efforts to minimize the negative consequences of the pandemic on the economies of the two countries, including the need to maintain high rates of trade and economic cooperation and unhindered transit of freight vehicles engaged in international transport.
The two ministers separately considered the preparations of top-level and high-level events. The mutual attitude of Nur-Sultan and Tashkent to maintain a high level of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation was confirmed.
