First-ever Kazakh representative heads technical committee at CISM
During the meeting of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) Board of Directors, head of the Kazakhstan’s delegation, Major Altynbekov was elected as the president of the boxing technical committee, CSKA’s press service reports.
Secretary General Colonel Mambi Koita personally congratulated the newly elected president and noted that he was impressed with the work done over the past year, thanks to which the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan were able to not only return to their former positions, but even brought them to a new level, thereby strengthening the authority gained over the years in CISM.
It should be reminded that Kazakhstan became a full member of this organization during the General Assembly in 1993 in Varna. Today, CISM includes 140 countries. Thanks to the motto - “FRIENDSHIP THROUGH SPORT!” - servicemen from all over the world have the opportunity to measure their strength not on a battlefield, but in a sports arena.
Among the countries of the friendly armies of the CIS member states, only Kazakhstan and Russia were able to occupy key positions in the CISM.
