Film ‘Ayka’ to be screened at 7th Film Festival in Barcelona
The film “Ayka” is about to open the prestigious Asian Film Festival, to take place 30 October to 10 November 2019 in Barcelona. The event will be attended by Samal Yesslyamova, a lead actress in the film Ayka, Staregy2050.kz informs with reference to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
The Asian Film Festival Barcelona 2019 will showcase 131 feature films and 25 short films from 25 countries.
Given the support of Casa Asia (Houses of Asia) and the Kazakh embassy in Barcelona, other 5 Kazakh films are to be screened during the Festival, they include “Shynyrau” by Zhanabek Zheyiruova, “Na grani” by Aldiyar Bairakimova, “Satash” by Tulegen Baitukenov, “Aruakh” by Khuat Akhmetov and “The Girl and the Sea” co-produced by Aziz Zairov and Mukhamed Mamyrbekov.
Most (over 100) feature films are films of 2018 and 2019 showing every day issues of ordinary people, social conflicts and problems in various genres from drama to thriller.
