Dinara Saduakassova sets new record in Kazakh chess
The Isle of Man saw the completion of the 11-stage Grand Swiss international chess tournament, which is one of the FIDE’s important and biggest tournaments, Strategy2050.kz informs.
Total 154 top chess players from over 40 countries competed in the tournament, including world-class grandmasters world champion Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Levon Aronian and others, with the participants’ average rating of 2650.
Kazakhstan’s Dinara Saduakassova and India’s Harika Dronavalli tied for first and second place among women.
“It was a great chance to demonstrate myself,” Dinara Saduakassova said, adding: “Each day were top players. The duration also added up. All my opponents were grandmasters-Sixtiers, world chess elites! Nevertheless, it did not stop me. I had a desire to challenge myself.”
Now, Kazakh chess player Dinara Saduakassova’s rating has gone up to 2505, and she is 11th in the list of the best women chess players worldwide, thus setting a new record in women’s chess of Kazakhstan.
