Dariga Nazarbayeva met with World Bank representatives in Kazakhstan
Chairman of the Senate of Parliament Dariga Nazarbayeva received Lilia Burunciuc, Regional Director of the World Bank for Central Asia. The event was attended by deputies of the Senate of Parliament and Country Manager of the World Bank for Kazakhstan Jean-François Marteau, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the Senate’s press service.
During the meeting, promising areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the World Bank were discussed.
“We are now paying great attention to economic issues. Today, the Senate is concerned about how to accelerate the growth of our economy, increase people's incomes and ensure an increase in the revenue of the state budget,” the Kazakh Senate Speaker said.
In turn, Lilia Lilia Burunciuc expressed her willingness to work together and noted that the World Bank pays great attention to projects on the analysis and monitoring of administration, increasing the budget revenues and the rational use of funds.
The World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia proposed a study on the results of the tax reform in Kazakhstan, including the effectiveness of tax benefits. She also spoke about monitoring opportunities by the World Bank for agribusiness, transit potential and green economy programs.
The parties agreed to continue consultations on the methodology of long-term forecasting of economic processes, analysis of current statistics and research programs.
