Dariga Nazarbayeva meets Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan
Dariga Nazarbayeva, Chairwoman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament, Director at the First Kazakh President Foundation, held meetings on the sidelines of the 2019 World Cancer Leaders’ Summit, taking place in Nur-Sultan, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to the Senate press service.
The Head of the Upper House of Parliament attended a meeting with Princess Dina Mired of Jordan, who is the President of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). Both discussed the possibilities for cooperation among the First President Foundation and the King Hussein Cancer Foundation.

“The First President Foundation funds projects in different areas, including health and youth scientific research. Being the Foundation’s Director, I suggest considering the possibilities for cooperation among our organizations. We would like to intensify our research in the problems we have in cancer,” the Senate Speaker said.
She also met with Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan to expressed gratitude for her participation in the Summit, and noted the significance of researching, diagnosing and treating cancer both nationally and globally.
On her turn, the Turkish First Lady commended the Summit, offered to develop bilateral cooperation in health.
“Kazakhstan and Turkey are linked with friendly and fraternal ties, as well as with partnership. Both countries cooperate on many fronts successfully. So, I am certain the Summit will contribute our cooperation and mutually beneficial ties,” she said.
The Senate Speaker also had a meeting with Burkina Faso’s First Lady Adjoavi Sika Kaboré, where she talked about the ongoing measures to fight cancer in Kazakhstan.

As Dariga Nazarbayeva said, upon the National Leader’s instruction the 2018022 Comprehensive Plan to increase the availability of high-tech medical services, roll-out innovative methods for diagnosis and treatment, human resource development, fundamental and applied scientific research on cancer.
Adjoavi Sika Kaboré, on her part, noted the importance of joint work in maintaining public health, expressing Burkina Faso’s readiness to adopt Kazakhstan’s experience in the field of combating cancer.
