Classic and modern: Astana Ballet to host grand gala ballet
On the eve of International Women's Day, on March 6 and 7, the "Astana Ballet" Theater presents a gala ballet with the participation of the stars of the capital's theater. Spectators will be able to enjoy not only the exciting language of modern choreography, but also the classics with its filigree fouetté and pas de chat in one evening, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of the theatre.
The Gala combines the best fragments from the performances of classical heritage along with neoclassical productions. So, in the first section, viewers will see the scene of the “Lively Garden” from the famous ballet “Corsair”, excerpts from the ballets “The Nutcracker”, “Swan Lake”, “Cinderella”, “The Legend of Love” and “Silent Voices”. Amazing in their plasticity, gestures gathered in a subtle dialogue between the characters will tell fascinating stories about human feelings, dreams and hopes.
“Such performances, of course, are important and useful for our soloists, as they have a great opportunity to express themselves and their creativity. For them, this will be a good test of strength and will undoubtedly benefit their growth”, Mukaram Avakhri, the chief choreographer of the "Astana Ballet" Theater, said.
The second section will feature the one-act ballet "A Fuego Lento" by Brazilian choreographer Ricardo Amarante. In the language of modern choreography, the ballet master talks about the all-consuming passion, the first feelings of anxiety and emotional tension, when you newly discover the power of love. “Touching the strings of the soul”, “carving fire in the hearts of people” is just what this ballet succeeds in. And sultry, exciting and passionate tango melodies exacerbate all feelings and remain forever in the hearts of the audience.
