British investors have a stake in Turkestan region’s development
Turkistan region is believed to be among fast-growing regions across Kazakhstan due to its appeal to domestic and foreign investors, the press service of the Governor’s Office of Turkestan region informs.
The region increasingly becomes famous and is usually the subject of discussion among foreign investors.
The development of trade and economic cooperation and investment opportunities were the main topics of the Kazakh-British Investment Forum Kazakhstan Global Investment Forum 2019 held by FT Live Events in London. The event gathered over 400 delegates, corporate investors from Britain and other countries.
Meirzhan Myrzaliyev, Deputy Governor of Turkistan region, led a delegation consisting the heads of Turkestan invest, Turkestan special economic zone and Turkestan industrial zone.
He informed investors that the region provides measures for creating favorable conditions and encouraging investment. He added that today’s ancient city of Turkestan turns into a beautiful modern city while retaining its historic look, thus attracting more foreign tourists.
The delegation, during its visit, held over 25 meetings with leading corporate investors working in agriculture, construction, tourism and renewables. The visit also saw the Turkistan special economic zone receiving the award Global Free Zones of the Year 2019 for the best FEZ.
An agreement was reached with Financial Times magazine to further develop cooperation and carry out projects in the region. The British investors and tourists are due to pay a reciprocal visit to get to know the region and enhance the trade and economic ties.
