Astana Hub reports outcomes since its establishment 1 year ago
6 November 2019 saw the launch of the International Technology Park of IT Startups Astana Hub initiated by First Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s to implement the fifth area of the Digital Kazakhstan programme, which is the development of an innovation ecosystem. Astana Hub’s main goal is to promote startup culture and high-technology projects in a bid to enhance the country’s economy, Astana Hub's press service informs.
Since the first days of its opening Astana Hub has been working on the measures to support the development of technology startups. Thus, thanks to the Park’s capacities and services over 1000 researchers and technology entrepreneurs develop projects on cyber security, child protection apps, new-generation ATM as well as other beneficial technologies. Astana Hub’s resident companies have attracted total investments of over 17 billion tenge since its launch.
Astana Hub, Kazakhstan’s largest technology park, works at full capacity and is home to over 130 companies and 17 R&D labs.
Last year saw the Park holding more than 600 events, trainings and lections, gathering overall 17 thousand participants. Among the major ones was Digital Bridge, a forum for young IT specialists, which attracted tech entrepreneurs from all over the world.
The International Technology Park of IT Startups Astana Hub has established customized startup development programmes taught for free, they include the Startup School, incubation, acceleration and virtual accelerator programmes. Its acceleration programme is the only free programme assisting startup developers in scaling up, attracting clients and investments.
Overall 400 listeners, 200 startup projects underwent the Park’s education projects, with other 60 projects passing the education projects until this year’s end.
Among the Technology Park’s main achievements is the creation of jobs by the participants of the acceleration programmes. Overall 1182 jobs have been created.
