Almost 10 mln ear tags issued in Kazakhstan last year
In 2019 the RSE “Republican Anti-Epizootic Unit” of the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan conveyed 9 million 933 thousand ear tags for identification of farm animals to the local executive bodies. Thus, 100% was provided with the need for tags for identification of young animals, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Agriculture Ministry.
In accordance with the requests of the local executive bodies for 2019, more than 2.8 million tags were transferred for the identification of cattle, 6.8 million small cattle, 223.5 thousand pigs, 44.8 thousand camels.
In general, as of December 31, 2019, 7 696 606 heads of cattle, 19 871 460 heads of small cattle, 716 070 heads of pigs, 2 708 609 heads of horses, 214 434 heads of camels were registered in Kazakhstan’s database for identification of farm animals. Thus, as previously reported, in Kazakhstan there are more than 31 million farm animals.
For reference: in accordance with the requirements of the national legislation, all farm animals in Kazakhstan must be identified by assigning an account number, issuing a veterinary passport and entering information about the sex, breed, suit, age, owner in a special database.
The functionality of the Farm Animal Identification portal includes registration and deregistration of animals, registration of preventive measures, registration of collateral, etc. The information system works in real time, therefore, all changes are reflected immediately after saving the data.
