Almaty hosted a seminar on air freight security
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has held a seminar under the topic "Supply chain security in air transportation" engaging the specialists from the Transport Workers’ Union of Kazakhstan "KAZLOGISTICS" in Almaty, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to the Union’s press service.
IATA has conducted a training seminar for the employees of Kazakhstan’s Asia Freight that is the first Kazakh company to be about to receive the status of a regulated supply chain security agent. Established in 2002, Asia Freight is a freight sales agent and transport agent for the country’s all major airlines, as well as an IATA accredited member.
The company together with IATA has been working on the Asia Freight Cargo Security Capacity Building project.
Checking personnel, storage facilities, documentation, as well as obtaining permission from an authorized body - the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan – are required to obtain the status.
The Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan KAZLOGISTICS includes about 570 transport and logistics companies and Associations of Kazakhstan, including 6 national companies Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Kazaeronavigation, Kazpost, Air Astana, Aktau International Sea Trade Port, KazAvtoZhol, 7 industry Associations - Association of National Forwarders of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Association of Carriers and Wagon/Container Operators, and so on. The main goals of the KAZLOGISTICS Transport Union of Kazakhstan are to promote and integrate Kazakhstan's transport and logistics system into the global system, introduce innovations, and develop multimodal transportation in the region.
