Abu Dhabi to hold Days of Kazakh Cinema
Days of Kazakh Cinema will be on 27 January 2020 in Abu Dhabi’s cultural center Manarat al Saadiyat, with the screening of the feature film Qunanbai by Doskhan Zholzhaksynov. The event, which is part of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to the UAE, is organized by the Shaken Aimanov Kazakhfilm film studio with the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the embassy to the UAE, the Shaken Aimanov Kazakhfilm film studio’s press service informs.
After a grand opening, it is expected to show the documentary Kazakh Dance by Anvar Sadykova and Gaziz Nasyrov. It tells the story of Kazakh dance through the fate of a young ballerina, a student of the A. Seleznev Almaty Choreographic School, laureate of the International Competition - Zhanel Ulanova.
On 28 January, the screening of two seasons of the historical filmology The Kazakh Khanate - the films The Diamond Sword and The Golden Throne - by director Rustem Abdrashov based on the first novel The Conquered Sword from Ilyas Yesenberlin’s The Nomads trilogy. The author of The Kazakh Khanate idea is First President, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Days of Kazakh Cinema will culminate on 29 January in the display of feature films The Way of the Leader. Astana by Akan Satayev and Amre by Jeff Vespa.
The films will be shown in the original language with English subtitles.
