In this regard, the Head of State shared his vision of what love for the Motherland should be like. According to him, modern Kazakh patriotism should include three main features.
“Firstly, patriotism begins with a deep understanding of the history, the origins. It is very important that the young generation knows about the difficult pages of the past and about the achievements of our people that inspire legitimate pride. Our history has millennial roots. And we are rightfully proud of our past,” the President said.
He also emphasized that many information about our history remains to be published. We need to pay tribute to all who fought for our freedom. In this way, we strengthen the patriotic feelings of our citizens, especially young people.

“Secondly, patriotism includes respect for the State and government institutions. Our common task is to be involved in the values of our State. Our main wealth is prosperity and unity, stability and tranquility, peace and harmony. Many, especially young people, must understand that if there is no State, then there will be no nation. Today's generation should be involved in maintaining the integrity of our country,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
He went on to say that the concept of Kazakh patriotism for all should be a national value, all ideology should be aimed at creating unlimited love for the motherland, and urged the country's youth organizations to support this noble initiative.
“Thirdly, our goal is to become one of the most developed States and take a worthy place in the world. Patriotism is not just a slogan. Presently, it needs to be proved by acquiring knowledge, striving for science, mastering innovations and technologies. Today, it’s not the one who possesses physical strength who wins, but the one who has knowledge that withstands intellectual competition,” the President stated.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that our youth should strive to implement projects and initiatives that will adequately represent Kazakhstan around the world. Only in this way our love for the Motherland will be realized in new geopolitical, geo-economic realities.
He went on to say that those three main features, this will strengthen independence and open the way to a bright future for our country.
The Head of State emphasized that the Kazakh intelligentsia should say a significant word in the formation of spiritual guidelines for young people.
“I believe that today the important task of the intelligentsia is to educate the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
