Restrictions on flights to Europe were lifted from "Air Astana" in April this year. This was annouced by the Minister of Transport and Communications Zhenis Kassymbek told a briefing in the Central Communications Service on Tuesday.
Zhenis Kassymbek added the Ministry revoked certificates from 18 operators. According to him, there are 42 operators in Kazakhstan, the majority of which are engaged in agricultural aviation.
"Kazakhstan's level of compliance with ICAO requirements is 65%, while the world average is about 60%. We expect that within the next two months there will be a final decision on the removal of restrictions from Kazakh companies. However, there are additional ICAO recommendations related to further improvement of legislation," he said.
