Gref: Eurasian Economic Union to increase attractiveness of Kazakh banking sector
13 June, 2014 09:46
Establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union will increase the attractiveness of the Kazakh banking sector, Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Russia German Gref expressed this opinion at a briefing following the 27th plenary session of the Foreign Investors Council under the President of Kazakhstan.
"Our successful operations in Kazakhstan have already become the subject of study of other banking institutions. I think that Kazakhstan will become more and more attractive to financial institutions," Gref said, according to primeminister.kz
He is confident that despite some skepticism about the prospects for large foreign financial institutions in Kazakhstan, "the signing of the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty can radically change the attractiveness of the Kazakh banking sector."
Thus, according to him, the new stage of integration will increase competition and make "our entire economic zone much more attractive."
