Astana holds march of peace and accord (PHOTOS)
The march of peace and accord is the international project of interethnic and interreligious cooperation called "Path to the roots".
The organizers of the event are the Charitable Foundation "Peace and Consent", Tatar educational and cultural center "Duslyk" with the support of the Association of Tatars and Bashkirs of Kazakhstan, the Veterans Council of Saryarkinsky district, as well as Astana Akimat.
It is assumed that participants will continue their route in the cities of Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. For 2 months of the project the participants will cover a distance of 7310 km, 1000 of which - on foot.
"Our main task is to initiate the development of a draft concept of interreligious dialogue", said the president of Charity Foundation "Peace and Consent" Ruslan Abdullin.
According to the head of the executive committee of the march of peace and accord Timur Seitov, the event is a civil action and part of realization of President Nursultan Nazarbayev's idea on religious tolerance among different confessions. The march calls for peace and good neighborliness.
