National screening programs covered 30 % of population - Kazakh Health Minister
“30% of population is covered by the national screening programs under the second direction of the State Program “Salamatty Kazakhstan, the Minister noted.
“7 of the 11 screening programs are aimed at early detection of cancer. In general, 25 million researches have been made over three years of the screening programs’ realization,” Kairbekova informed.
"Using high-tech methods of treatment and the principle of early detection of diseases Kazakh doctors managed to reduce mortality from circulatory system diseases almost two times from 2011 to 2013. Only in 2013 more than 60 thousand cardiac surgeries were performed in Kazakhstan. This is by 38 thousand surgeries more than in 2010. Herewith, the death rate from cancer in the country decreased by 11%," she concluded.
