New anti-tuberculosis plan adopted by Kazakh Government -G. Abdykalikova

A new action plan for the struggle against tuberculosis for 2014-2010 has been approved at a Government meeting today, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova told a briefing in the Central Communications Service.
"The plan envisages inter-sectorial cooperation. It is also planned to modernize anti-tuberculosis service, expand outpatient care to patients, improve access to modern effective tuberculosis prevention technologies,"Abdykalikova noted.
According to her, the first stage of the healthcare development program called "Salamatty Kazakhstan" already brings first results.
In comparison with 2009 the rate of mortality in Kazakhstan decreased by 11%. It was 7.9 per one thousand people at the end of 2013. Life expectancy in Kazakhstan grew by 3.1% to 70.4 years. Maternal mortality decreased by 65%, infant mortality went down by 38%. Tuberculosis incidence declined by 30%.
