Pre-trial procedure revised in Kazakhstan

Speaking at the today’s press conference in the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the Agency Marat Akhmetzhanov informed the Agency of Kazakhstan for Fighting Economic and Corruption Crimes (financial police) fully revised pre trail procedure.

Given the assignments of the President of Kazakhstan and other program documents, the Agency improves and enlarges its strategic goals. In particular, the authority carries out moderation of activity, improves efficiency

According to him, the agency conducted a full-scale work on rebuilding of pre-trial proceedings.

"As you know, the Senate is considering a new concept and new drafts of Criminal Code of Criminal Procedure Code. The new concept is expected to be adopted on January 1, 2015," he said. 

Starting from 2012 we have being fulfil stage by stage introduction of new model

"Since 2012, we have carried out a phased implementation of the new organizational model of pretrial proceedings. The essence of the new approach is to strengthen the interaction between the investigative and operational units work together in the initial stages of the criminal process, from the moment of registration, and to forward the case to the court,” Akhmetzhanov added.

According to him, the investigator’s role as coordinator of the whole pretrial system was increased.
