Terhi Hakala: Kazakhstani potential allows world-class technologies

Seminar “Summarizing of cooperation for the purpose of sustainable usage of mineral resources “has started its work in Helsinki, Finland. The event concludes long-term cooperation between Kazakhstan and Finland in geology,” the Committee of Geology and Subsoil management informed.

Committee on Geology and Subsoil management of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan together with  the Geological Service of Finland  had being realized the  joint project since 2011.

Chairman of the Committee on Geology and Subsoil management of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan B.Nurabaev noted significant progress in bilateral cooperation.

"I think it necessary to note that our cooperation should be developed, regardless of any factors. The possibility of expanding of the project's horizons with the inclusion of hydrogeological and geophysical studies is  considered currently," he added.

In turn, Director General of Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland Terhi Hakala stressed that Kazakhstan has reached a level where the competence and capabilities allow to introduce and develop similar projects independently. She congratulated Kazakhstan on such great achievements and noted that she hopes for a long and successful partnership to expand the format of relations between Kazakhstan and Finland.
