Kazakhstan realizes pilot project 'judicial mediation'

A pilot project on introduction into a civil procedure of conciliation procedures with the participation of a judge (judicial mediation) is realized in 37 district (municipal) courts, which are specialized in consideration of civil cases, located in regional centers, as well as in civil and administrative appellate divisions of regional courts.

Special office rooms are open in every court for holding conciliation procedures by a judge.

In the frames of the pilot project courts hold an explanatory work among the population, in particular, information stands are placed in buildings of courts, which contain a mechanism of application of a judicial mediation. Information on the course of realization of the pilot project on introduction of a judicial mediation is published on Internet-resources of regional courts.

Regional and equivalent courts hold training seminars, and round tables on issues of execution of a judicial mediation for judges; lists of judges-mediators are approved. Issues of application of a judicial mediation are the subject of debate in regional mass media and on the television.

A certain judicial practice is accumulated.
