Chairman of National Bank: Special economic zone to be formed in Almaty

A special economic zone on the model of London city is planned to be created within the establishment of the ficiancial center in Almaty city," Chairman of the National bank of kazakhstan Kairat Kelimbetov noted during the CCS press conference.
Almaty will become a regional hub of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in the Central Asian region, Almaty could rise to this role," Kelimbetov noted.
Also the head of the National Bank added that the new strategy based on the development of new approaches of the regional financial center, implies a change in the tax code - some changes on preferential taxation, further simplification of the visa regime to attract highly skilled foreign labor for the further development of the regional financial center of Almaty.
