Almaty flower festival brought together record number of participants

The IV annual flower festival of Almaty city will open on May 24 at the Park of the 1st President of Kazakhstan. More that 100 thousand people attended the event.
The core of the festival program is a floristic contest, a flower show, a flower trade fair, and master classes by leading Kazakhstani and foreign florists, a concert, etc.
Opening the solemn part of the festival Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov noted the growing popularity of the event, not only in the country but also far beyond its borders.
"Florists came from Russia, Ukraine, France, Holland and other countries came this year in Almaty. Currently the area of the city flower beds is more than 200 thousand square meters. Today we can confidently say that Almaty is a city of flowers. Festival is not only an exhibition of flowers, but a holiday where Alamty citizens could communicate with each ohter," Akhmetzhan Yesimov said.
