Astana to host G-Global International Summit of Journalism

The First International Summit of Journalism is going to be held within the framework of VII Astana Economic Forum tomorrow May 21, 2014.

The key goal of creating an information platform to further enhance collaboration between global journalism and media, economic sector and latest technological achievements

Besides the Summit targets to raise questions about the role of Media in the conditions of global financial crisis and to raise awareness about the use of innovative technologies to prepare and present the economic and other types of information to the audience.

The Summit is also designed to assess the journalistic competence in dealing with economic issues, to support current trends of anti-crisis information policy and methods of identifying preliminary conditions of global crisis and informing the general public about them in an engaging way using new technologies, programs and apps. Innovative solutions, experience and insight can become a powerful barrier against economic threats. Some of the main topics of the Summit are going to be data-driven journalism, information visualization, reporting on economic crisis and technological innovations in gathering, processing and presenting complex information, especially one focused on economy, politics and society.

Some of the key events are going to be the Opening Ceremony of the I G-Global International Journalism Summit with speeches from international and domestic giants of the journalism and media industry in general, the Award Ceremony of the G-Global Award for outstanding contributions to global journalism, the Media Expo with demonstration of some of the latest technological achievements in the media industry, with participation of media industry representatives as well as software and apps developer companies.

The program also includes speeches and talk shows with media personas, presentations, content-makers session, workshops and seminars as well as tv-debates.
