Spring sowing to cover 4.7 mln ha of area in Akmola region
To date, in the optimization of the structure of sown areas, it is planned to reduce the level of grain crops by 45 thousand hectares (4.2 million hectares), by expanding the areas of priority crops.
Diversification (optimization) of cropping patterns will be continued in the region. Thus, sowing of oilseeds in the current year will cover an area of 279.2 thousand hectares, which is higher by 26.9 thousand hectares than last year's level.
As for the area of oilseeds, it will be increased through the flax sowing by 49 thousand hectares ( 156.2 hectares).
In general, in the structure of sowing areas in 2014 oilseeds will be 6 % of the spring sowing (it was 5.7% in 2013).
Spring sowing of forage crops will cover an area of 220.7 thousand hectares.
