Temporary ban on import and sale of alcoholic beverages to be introduced in Kazakhstan from June 1
"Today there have been already imposed a ban on sales of meat products. Primarily, it aims at beef imported from Australia as the product does not pass the sanitary epidemiologic expertise, the representative of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning noted.
According to Mrs. Alimbetova the discovery of the growth stimulant trenbolone in the meat imported from Australia is a cause of the ban.
In addition, a temporary restriction on the import and sale of alcoholic beverages will be introduced in Kazakhstan from June 1, 2014.
“It is connected with the 22nd technical regulation that is being effective through this year. There was a transition period and the alcoholic beverages that will not meet the technical regulations will be removed from sales and be banned for import,” Alimbetova added.
It should be noted this ban will be enacted by Resolution of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan from May 11, 2014.
