Kazakhstan launched period of water space usage

Prior to opening it, Mintranscom performed the inter-seasonal repair of engineering fleet, as well as the repair of over 3 thousand units of both floating and coast marks.

To date, the season has been opened on the sections of Ural-Caspian and Ili – Balkhash basins’ water ways, with tolal mileage of 2 321 km, and on Irtysh river section: Shulba artificial lake – Klin township (vorder of Russian Federation), 923.5 km long.

Note that navigation in Kazakhstan is performed in Irtysh, Ural-Caspian, and Ili-Balkhash basins along the water ways with total mileage of over 4 thousand km.

Depending on weather conditions at the navigable waters, the season is opened on May 1 to 12, with average duration of 196 days. During this period, Kazakhstan water ways are open for vessels to move.
