81 tons of Russia's bananas blocked in by state inspectors - Ministry of Agriculture
In the first week of 2020, state plant quarantine inspectors from Akmola, West Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regional territorial inspections stopped 8 attempts to smuggle plant products of high phytosanitary risk from the Russian Federation, Strategy2050.kz refers to the press service of the Agriculture Ministry.
81 tons of bananas, more than 37 tons of potatoes, 20 tons of carrots without a phytosanitary certificate, and 3 tons of wheat seeds without labeling were tried to import from the neighboring country.
In accordance with the requirements of legislation in the field of plant quarantine, the import of these products into the territory of Kazakhstan was prohibited. The goods were returned to the Russian Federation, while the perpetrators were brought to administrative responsibility.
