Kazakhstan to develop standards to counter scientific plagiarism

The Ministry of Education and Science is developing standards of ethical regulation of research activities, Kazakh Vice Minister of Education and Science Murat Orunkhanov said.

"We see that during the execution of grant projects there emerges scientific dishonesty, unacceptable system of plagiarism. In terms of reducing phenomena such as plagiarism, we are currently developing standards of ethical regulation of research activities," he said during the expanded board of the Ministry on Thursday.

The Vice Minister stressed that "these standards will be used in all phases of planning and evaluation of scientific studies. All works that violate the scope of these standards will be stopped."
