Ministry of Regional Development will develop drafts of international agreements on the further use of military ranges and ‘Baikonur’ complex: B. Zhamishev

Ministry of Regional Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan will develop drafts of the international agreements on the further use of military ranges and "Baikonur” complex, Regional Development Minister Bolat Zhamishev told during meeting of the staff of the ministry.

“Important issue for the country and for the regions is operation of the range leased by the Russian Federation,” B. Zhamishev said.

The Minister said, it was decided to accept one single international treaty at the 16th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation with the Russian Federation.

"Currently, a draft agreement is being considered by the Russian side. During the regular meeting on January 22, 2014 sides agreed to reduce leased areas of polygons. Ministry will develop projects of international treaties governing the future use of military sites and "Baikonur" complex.
